I have received so many emails asking me about equine massage therapy schools that I have decided to add a page listing all of the schools I am aware of. Before we get the list of the equine therapy schools, I would like to make a few statements of my opinion concerning some of the programs. |

I am a little concerned about the equine training programs that claim that you can be a certified equine therapist in as little as 3 to 9 days. I do believe you will be certified - as all that certification really is is the school giving you a certificate saying you passed their course. It does not really mean much of anything. I could actually certify people if I wanted to. But, I do not believe that you can be a qualified equine therapist in so short of a time. |
If you are interested in learning equine therapy to benefit your own horses, these programs may be just fine for you. But - If you would like to have equine therapy as your career, I believe that you would need to go to one of the more thorough, more extensive programs whose goal is to really teach you to become a qualified therapist and not just a shorter program who is interested in just turning out a quantity of graduates. If you are truly interested in equine therapy as a career, you could also consider doing what many people do (including myself) which is to go to a human school and get continuing education in equine therapy modalities. With that said, let's get to the list. This is obviously not an all inclusive list - it is just the equine therapy schools that I am aware of. Disclaimer: Being included in this list is not in any way a recommendation or endorsement for any of the schools. This is simply a list. |
